KDHE provides grants to assist with the implementation and enhancement of local and regional solid waste projects.
Grants are used to fund the development and operation of recycling, source reduction, waste minimization and solid waste management public education programs.
The grants are awarded to cities, counties, private companies and private or non-profit organizations.
Awards are based on revenues generated by solid waste tipping fees and the recommendations of the Governors' Solid Waste Grants Advisory Committee.
